No picture yet but I have my garmin nuvi mounted on the far left of the windshield right above the air vent with the suction cup mount. It does not obstruct my view of the road and it is very easy to see the screen and hear the directions.

This panavise mount is what I use on my sirius but it works on all personal electronic devices that share the same four hole pattern. Very secure because it's metal and screwed in.

The best in deed is the suction cup mount , the best place is the drivers side low corner but there where some issues , the first one is that i live in a country of thieves , they could easily grab it from the outside the same as they did with my wifes blackberry while she was texting , the other one is that gps batteries dont last as long as we wanted too and on that spot there is no power source , the third one is that only the driver can see the trail and the funny part is that every member of the crew can have fun viewing it to so i think that the best placement was just below the rear-view mirror just as i did!

your power cord is WAY shorter than mine. I just lay mine across the top of the steering wheel cowl

I have mine on the far left of the windshield as well. I ran the power cord for it through the center of the dash behind the radio and up through the defroster vents and across the dash so it is out of sight. The only problem I have had is my mount falling off, but the suction cup on it is worn out I think.

mmm , i had a similar situation once , with a suction cup for my HTC mobile which i used as a gps , what i did was bought a sander paper , the ones that car painters use to polish it was really thin and in a circular way start sanding the ventose until it gets all around well sanded and try it again !!
