Rather than shelling out the money on a gopro I wanted to look into a dslr mount for my Nikon D3100 for filming trail rides, and taking still photos along the way.
Has anyone attempted a mounting system for in the cab? I know on my passat we would clip my buddies mount on the metal headrest supports but the XJ doesn't have an adjustable headrest. Seems like the only place would be on the dash, unless I upgraded/changed the front seats.
Would rather not do all of that if there is a simple/easier way to make a mount.

Don't get mad because you didn't read the rules. There is even a thread so the people on the app can see.
If you're camera has a threaded insert into the bottom for a tripod, take a piece of 4"x4" steel plate, drill a hole in the middle, thread a bolt through and into the bottom of the camera and mount the plate on the dash. Easy peasy.
Or just run a bolt through the dash and into the bottom of the camera.
