I've used both the roll on bedliner (floors) and the spray can (rockers)

IMO definatly go with the spray on the rockers, it leaves a texture like a fine black sandpaper or maybe grip tape. The other stuff is kinda thick and chunky.

i prefer roll on vs. spray can. i did my rear bumper in spray can and didn't like the results at all. i re-did it with roll on and much better, especially texture.

^X2 Go with the rattle can and not the spray gun. The roller is VERY chunky, the gun is LESS chunky but still odd looking, rattle can looks the best IMHO. I plan on doing it 2 tone from the body line in the door all the way down (i have lots of trail "love" on it) once I... scratch the IF I convince the parent... If it gets done I make sure to post some pics.

I've only seen that done on 2dr's of just the quarters of the 4dr's.... Mind if I steal your idea? Do you have a close-er up view of the texture?

roll on bed liner is NOT chunky at all. you have to MIX it very well before applying. i have used both herculiner and plasti-kote roll on bed liner with excellent results. i've also used dupli-color spray on bedliner and was dissappointed with it. whoever thinks the roll-on is chunky, isn't doing something right.

Thanks man. Maybe it has something to do with the roller brush that comes with the kit Vs the bed liner itself.

believe it or not, but i like the plasti-kote kit from wally world better than the herculiner so far and the plasti-kote kits was about $50.

now i don't disagree that the roll-on won't "clump". you have to mix it very well each time you go to fill up your roller tray. the plasti-kote is less prone to clumping because it's thinner than the herculiner, but it applies better and more uniform. it will get blotchy though the longer you use the roller, but it's not the bedliner, it's the roller getting worn out. the roller with the herculiner can cause it to clump up more so than the roller that is supplied with the plasti-kote kit and again, that is why i say mix it very well. i used a mixer that chucks into a drill to mix it up.

i know this because i use herculiner roll-on bedliner the first time i did it, then i used the plasti-kote to add more thickness to it. now as far as durabilty goes, the herculiner held up great and so far the plasti-kote is doing just fine. one thing to note is that the herculiner will fade fairly quickly unless you used their UV protectant. i relly can't tell if the plasti-kote has faded or not b/c i don't wash the jeep, only rinse it off after hitting the trails. imo, it still looks good and serves the purpose i intended.

If you are going to spray do it right and use this kit.http://www.tptools.com/Product.aspx?display_id=2600
In my opinion the best of them all.

i wouldn't necessarily call it chunky, but more textured than the spray on. with the spray on stuff, you have to mask off a lot more of the Heep due to overspray and then add that to the preperation of the surface you are going to bedline is more time than i care to put into it. the roll-on is cheaper (plati-kote vs. raptor), less overall preperation, and has yielded very good results for me.
