Ohh, and notice, I got a "Trail Rated" logo! My girlfriends dad has a Jeep and asked me how I got it. Told him I had to take it to the DMV and do their off road course to get certified.

The spray is not poop. if you prep it correctly it will work just fine. I used Duplicolor spray on my rockers, quarters, bumpers and rock rails. No issues, but you must prep it correctly.

xjjeepthing, where did you get those tail light guards and do you remember how much? Everywhere I look they are like $190 for some a little bent tubing!

Check these out. It is all in the prep work and a pretty darn fun project to do. Mine is Herculiner and I like it because of the thicker texture. It is more of a 40 grit sand paper than the 150 grit you'd get from duplicolor (grittiness is not guaranteed accurate...you get the idea). The choice is all preference. I did my old truck bed in the Herc and liked it enough to do it again. If you go this route, I'd suggest taking the extra time to do your bumers and door jam areas. That being said, I bet one could lose a bit of flesh getting out of the rear seat if they aren't careful because of the coarse texture. I can take many more pictures if you like. I chose to do the wheel wells in shape of the fender flares (but about 1/2" fatter) so I could put htem back on if I wanted and have it look clean. The way it is now looks great. Since my XJ is a dark color anyway, the contrast from the two tones is pretty minimal when the rig isn't freshly washed.

How do you like?

The one thing I don't like is the look of no flares and no trimming, looks unfinished. The bedliner looks good! I need to do the inside of the doors and door sills.

Say what you want but the Raptor but it is a urethane based product that can be easily tinted to match colors, will last alot longer, Indore more punishment, and is the same stuff they charge $500+ for at rhinoliner & line-X. I have never seen a professional use a roll on bedliner, wonder why?
Here is a pic of a tinted version

and here is a texture side by side

Ah, I've got plans for those 12 free cans of Plasti-Kote I've got coming any day now!!! I'm gonna do my bumper centers, the entire roof,(yes I've got the cracking clearcoat thing going on up there) the safari rack, as well as a wrought iron garden bench in the back yard.

Yeah, I kinda agree. I'm not planning to do any trimming until the lift comes and I see where it needs to happen. I plan to put the flares back on to see how I like them with the bedliner, but I busted a bunch of the studs pulling them off. Eventually I'll weld some studs back onto the mounting rails on the flares. I just helped a buddy do a top end rebuild on his Bronco II so I've got some other chores do catch up on before I get to play in the garage again.
