Default battery tray bolts question

well i had to change my battery tray and one bolt was already broken, and i broke a second one,so just 1 bolt is holding it. now it looks like they are pressed in from the underside, do i have to drill them out? i tried pounding the two out,but no luck.

I tried driving out the one broken bolt in my battery tray. After several good whacks it hadn't budged. I'll probably drill it out, or just run with 2 of the 3 intact.

Sorry to re-animate this thread, but I have a related question. What size nut+washer are used on the battery tray for a 98? I am replacing the tray this weekend and I want to replace the nuts since they are rusted bad.

best bet is to just take the j bolt in the hardware store with you and find one that fits.

ok. I think the battery tray hold down bolts are the same size as the j-bolts, or at least it's easy to test that. I'll figure something out. thanks
