Default aux. fan prob!

93 cherokee 4.0 inline 6. Anyone know which sensor the aux. fan gets its reading from. So far i've been told both the one in the thermostat housing AND a sensor in the driver rear of engine? I'm broke so i dont want to replace crap i dont have to...yet! Thanx

I always thought it was the one at the T stat but I could be wrong.

You can call Jeep and tell them you are going to buy the sensor from them but you need to know what one it is then buy it from somewhere else.

You don't have to drain the system to take the sensor out. You will not even lose a pint of coolant out of the hole. If you don't want to lose any, jack the driver side up a bit.

i don't think thats the issue. aux fan comes on with the A/C compressor. 1st check if the fan works by running 12 volts to it.

Fan motor works, ran some cables from the connector to the bat! The overall issue was the jeep was running hot. Flushed the system, changed the hoses, changed thermostat and dremel cleaned the housing. And the water pumps fine. Only thing i could think of was the aux. fan wasn't coming on. Any other advice is ALWAYS appreciated though! I'll let ya'll know what happens when i replace it! THANX

I wired my Aux fan to a switch inside my Jeep, I can kick it on as I need it to. It works great for wheelin.

I just kick it on if I see my Jeep getting warm and it does a decent job to help keep things cool.
