It is all up to you... The auto vs manual debate is all about preference. I have a manual in my 00 xj and love it. That said the manual seem to be harder to find in some areas compared to others which could effect the prices of them near you.

Just buy a clean XJ and have some fun, don't let what transmission it has in it be a deal breaker.

Yeah. I also love my 5 speed( maybe cause I sometimes drive it like I stole it!) but I know where I cN get one that is already lifted and has tires. Only thing is that before the lift and tire t was stolen a few times. And the front bumper rubs a bit where the tire dully turns outward.

Stolen twice and wrecked? I would pass on that one.

manuals are alot more fun to driver, but finding a clean 4 wheel drive manual xj is hard where i live

I was in your same situation. Looking for months to find the perfect xj. All the ones I saw that were manual were either beat to hell, overpriced or just lacking in other areas. An auto finally caught my eye and well haven't looked back. When the right one pops up you'll know.
