I was in a fairly high speed rollover as a passenger in the back of an xj when I was like 14 yrs old. My cousin just got her license and was driving rally car style on a dirt road called proctor valley rd in san diego with her friend in the front, and me and my llittle bro in the back. She was going around a corner at about 45mph and caught a burm. We rolled two times and landed on all four wheels. It was pretty crazy we survived luckily everyone had their seatbelts on and no one got hurt. The jeep was totaled due to being an old 89 but the only damage was the rear tailgate was smashed in a little.

I have also almost flopped my xj offroad and ended up having three people stand on my sliders to pull through an off amber section.

It was 2 summers and we just had a quick thunder shower only about 20 min long but it soaked everything. Of course now we didn't want to go home cause it was muddy. So we were running late and rushing to get back. My xj wasnt legal for the road so we had to stay in the bush and go the long way. Well push came to shove and we were cruisin coming down a very loose and wet gravel road and had to make almost a u-turn at the bottom onto another road/path. I kicked the *** end around rally car style and it was gonna be perfect until I saw my front pass tire was gonna go up a little mount of dirt and that's when gravity took its course and we rolled onto the drivers side and onto the roof. As soon as that pass tire lifted up onto the dirt mound the rear drivers tire stuck like I just did a power slide into a curb. Lucky the windows were down and we could crawl out.

Some guy in a wrangler came across us before my buddy could get there and he winched it back onto its wheels. It was on its roof for an hour and as soon we rolled it back over it fired right up on the 2nd try. Smoked like an idiot for a lil bit but I kicked the windshield out a bit and drove it the rest of the way home. Good times.

96 xj 4.0 w/ 4" lift, 33's and no sway bars.

after we (my neighbors and I) got it back on the wheels it almost made it out of the field before it no longer drove.
lesson learned.

Jeep rolled twice at 45mph and only damaged the hatch? Interesting.

I figured this thread would be about people flopping on an obstacle offroad. Not storys of retarded moments on a dirt road...

I wa in a hurry ... couple inches of snow on the ground. I was a little cocky. Going about 40 mph. Car wasnt warmed up, brakes were a little sticky.

Ended up going sideways for a a considerable distance.

Didnt tip, but scared the **** out of me.

Many years ago I rolled a Wrangler end over end about 3 times, ended up 100 feet or so into a field on its side. 60mph, hit some black ice, locked up the brakes. Went off the road into a drain ditch which started the three endos lol. Not a single injury...totalled my dads Jeep though Popped both passenger coils out, broke the shocks, bent up steering, bent frame and all that jazz

Pics I guess lol. These are from the wreckers yard, I can't find any of it in the field

Here is a screen shot from my gopro of my xj on its side.

It looked like this just a few minutes before the tip. Def a rush to put it on the side even on a low speed tip. I got my tires up too high on the rock and when the rock rolled around the corner my tires slipped off and down I came. And I was still running my stock bumper at this point so I didn't have a good tow point. Ended up ripping it off on this trip and got a new one built a couple weeks later.

Sounds like most of these accidents could have been prevented by not driving like an idiot.

Flopped 3 times and hit the roof once but then went back on it's side, serious pucker moment. All that was on stock width axles. I've had both passenger tires off the ground but hard turning and some throttle put it back on all 4 on the full widths.
