anybody else regret buying their jeep?
i searched for about 3 months for an XJ before i found the one i got.
i wanted a 2 Door/ 5spd. Cherokee. Couldn't find what i wanted, in the condition and price range for my budget. Soooo... i ended up buying an Awesome 2WD, 2 Door with a AW4!
About a week later, i found a great 4WD 4 Door/ 5spd. XJ that i have small regrets about not buying! Oh well...
i'm not afraid of wrenches, so the 4WD conversion doesn't scare me much... i regret not doing it sooner!!!
Honestly though, i have NO REGRETS!!!

i have owned an 84 bronco with 351 windsor with edelbrock 4 barrel carb. that thing was a beast but couldnt afford the 4 mpg. so i bought a 87 honda accord. carbed. got about 35-40 mpg but just at the thought of snow it spun out. so i sold that and was carless for about 2 months and was looking for a xj which was one of my first choices but just graduated and had some money so i jumped on the first thing that was 4x4 and a beast. i looked on craigslist forever and didnt find what i wanted for the price rang i was in. i wanted a 4dr 5speed. so i put up a wanted ad on craigslist and a guy txted me that night went down and picked it up the next day for $800. it was my 3rd car bought and paid for before i had my license for a year. lol. but have never looked back even though now i have spent at least twice as much on her than i paid for her.
I don't regret a single ride I've purchesed between the Jeeps, a Xj and two XJs trucks cars everything has a place.
your ZJ needs a lift and better wheels and it will help a lot. I still miss my old ZJ from time to time.

Dont regret my rust bucket XJ, or my 2wd ZJ. I know where the OP was coming from though. I really regretted my YJ, hated that thing with a passion. Purely a "I want it now" purchase. Never again, mind you, I'm alot older and wiser now.

Nope I love my XJ to death! It's also practical for what I need it for since I live in the foothills of CA. Very dependable too. Ok, sure the mileage isn't great, but oh well. I can't really see myself in anyother car besides a XJ
well when my brother traided his car for a jeep (which i was forced to drive at the time) i looked at it and thought "like we need more scrap steel at our house" but during the summer i made a bond with it and loved it. i loved how it would death wobble doing 45, i loved how the axles were both LSD , i loved the shotty brakes,i loved its muddy interior, i loved the 5 speed, heck i even loved the rear wiper, and everytime i look back i think about how much fun i coulda had with it, but in the end it had to go. it was just to much money to get back on the road (brakes were so far gone that i had to engine brake it on dirt roads) so it had to go. so in the end i dont regret having my xj but i do regret getting it when i did.
