Nope, I bought it new almost exactly eleven years ago (April 13). I like it more today than the day I bought it. I do have a hankerin for a sporty convertible though but, if I take that plunge the XJ stays.

 

I got mine for a good price and its clean but I wish I had bought one with high output motor. There is nothing wrong with mine but I lke the 95+ engines more. And I wish I had the factory tow package. That would be nice too.

I do like the steering wheel in mine though. For some reason I see tons of different ones and only a few people have the one I have, it seems.

I do still have my super sporty good gas mileage comfy bmw too so I am set. That and the wife's liberty

Nope none of them but pretty sure my wife would rather I hadn't gotten the sickness. If it wasn't a Jeep it would be a muscle car, motorcycle or something so at least she gets to ride in them.

 

To regret ever buying a JEEP is just wrong.The only regret I have is selling my 69 CJ5.Jeeps are a sickness you don't want toget rid of.

 

just start putting some time into the Zj. there very capable jeeps and when modded right can be pretty cool

 

I ended up buying my Jeep the day after i started shopping for them. Only regret is the color and not holding out for a standard but it was still a good deal and im happy. I've had it over a year and its had no major mechanical issues.

 

I sorta jumped on mine when I saw it for sale. I didnt think to look it over for anything, but luckily the only things it needs are an oil filter adapter O-ring, and an entire new exhaust. It had very little rust, and what holes it had were very easy to patch. It has 190,000 miles, and I have nearly $100 in general maintinence in it, but another $1,500 in upgrades and mods. I bought it in the summer of 2008.

The only reason I got it was becaue my dad has a 1996 XJ, and I loved driving that with my learners permit. I also put just over $700 into getting it roadworthy, money I won't get back, but do not regret spending. It just means I have dibs on it if my dad ever gets a truck (but I think he likes the XJ too much lol).

I do not regret buying mine at all. For one, I could not see myself driving a POS car that cost the $1000 I paid for my XJ. Gas milage is a little bad, but I am not hurting for cash, so I can deal with it until I save up for axle swaps and regears.

 

Yeah stock ZJs look like minivans. Rip off the plastic clad junk and lift it. Put big tires on it and wheel it. You dont see other minivans doing that do you???

 

Bought mine on 9/9/09. In a way i regret buying it because i want a 97+ pretty bad. I will eventually get a 97+ and swap everything over and keep this one for whatever.

 

The first thing I did was pull the cladding, then I blacked out the grille and wheels, then I built a new front bumper.
It helped a bit, but not enough.
Thanks for the advice and encouragement everybody. I was about to put it on craigslist in the trade section and try to trade it for an xj, but maybe I should just hold bout until I can get some more aggressive tires on there

 

 

I bought my xj 2 years ago and haven't looked back. In fact a couple months ago we bought a 98 zj also and we love em. Looking for another xj too.

 

All that thang needs is a little lift and some tires!

 

terraflex had the 2" spacers for your zj in the scratch and dent section for 2.50 a spacer. i bought some for my zj but it was totaled the day before they showed up. i loved my zj. we looked for another but couldn't find any with the options i wanted so we got the xj instead. you can use xj, zj and wrangler spacers, if i remember right.
