Ok so heres the story, i found this 1992 cherokee on cars.com, 196,000 miles strait 6, two door automatic 4x4 for $795, all it needs is an altenator and a possible blower motor or switch for the motor, other then that everything is supposed to work, i was going to offer guy $600 but let me know what you guys think because i am going to call him back tomorrow/possibly tonight.

Not sure if that helps but im a couple states away from home and im in need of some transportation when i get home because my other cherokee has an engine problem, let me know what you guys think, thanks for the help agian guys

 

Just me.......but I would buy it. I bought mine for 800 (91) and it's a strong XJ. But always budget to make repairs you find that you need (other than what they say)

Mine, so far (only had it 3 weeks now):

Entire Cooling system (w/p, radiator, bypass valve, t-stat, hoses)
Rear brake cylinder
Booster

But be thankful that parts are inexpensive.

Other than that, looks straight. The carpet/upholstery needs some help, but I'm guessing all it really needs is a good cleaning. Not sure about that wire with the barrel plug sticking out of the vent on the dash, guessing he bypassed the bad blower switch?

$600 seems like a decent price if it runs and drives OK. It does not have an airbag, though, even though the ad says it does.

 

Yeah i noticed that and it isnt all that good knowing im driving something without one but i havent called him back yet (i have some 99 alloys for it to make it look better ) but not the point, i figure its a good deal if i can get it but right now im in florida on what some people call a "vacation" so ill call the guy tomorrow and see what happens, even back home its about 250 miles out.

 

Personally I like the older non-airbag cherokees. Less likely to have the steering wheel explode in your face while wheeling.

You do have a good point there, it is nice down here, really shocking to see how many cars down here that dont have rust and almost all the jeeps ive seen down here are 2WD, back in NY you get it one way or another, no matter how hard you try to avoid it, and while i was down here i also came aross this

Pretty nice for the money and it has pretty low miles but more then anything its a V8 gotta love those old AMC 360's

 

Well to anyone that was still following the thread the cherokee sold out from underneath me yesterday. Was planning on going and getting it today but someone showed up last night and got it , just thought id post an update
