Hey all - mounted a Viair compressor and 1.5 gallon tank in my cargo area, just behind the back seat and bolted into the floor. I used the rubber grommets, and it's on top of both kilmat and carpet, but MAN is that compressor loud up front when I turn it on - it's got tons of bass like a subwoofer! I figure it's just using the whole cargo floorpan as a drumhead. I tightened the compressor mounting screws up to the point that the rubber grommets started coming around the screws, but still just as loud. Is this just part of the joys of having an interior-mounted compressor?
I would have put the compressor above the tank on a bracket if I knew ANYTHING about fabrication...which I don't.
Thanks for the input!

Well I'm super-embarrassed to admit this, but I had been testing the setup without having all the fittings in it - turns out when there isn't an open port in the tank, it's MUCH quieter
I'm posting this at the cost of showing how stupid I am in the hopes it may help another idiot.

I once pulled my hair out trying to figure out why my winch wasn't working, just to find out I never hooked the power cable to the battery.
Its the little victories.
