I read in the instruction book that when you put the defroster on, it's normal for the ac compressor to come on to defrost faster, I guess because they figure you won't have heat yet b/c it's cold. I know it's normal, but can someone explain to me why it does it, and if I have the defroster on while it's warmed up, will it put out hot air? (I've gotta try it myself) thanks

The A/C system also removes moisture from the air inside which helps keep your windows from fogging up. The A/C cycles only briefly so it doesn't chill the heated air very much. Also helps keep the compressor "exercised" during the winter months. Win-win.
