Default New XJ in the family.

My folks just bought a 1999 4 door 4x4 XJ sport w/power everything and 134K on it for $2,900 and now I'm jealous. It's got a slight little ding on the RF fender behind the headlight but other than that, he body is perfect. The interior is in excellent shape as well.

The only thing is, the wheels don't match. They are all alloy wheels but, there are 3 of one style and 1 of another. I'd like to find them a 4th to put on the ground but, I don't know what the style is called and just use the odd one as a spare (or sell it and buy a steel spare).

I'll post some pics this Sunday. It's dark when I leave for work and dark when I get home so, I'll have to wait until my day off to take pics of it.

On a side note: Being jealous of their find, I got on Craigslist and found a 2000 4x4 4 door XJ with 156K miles on it for the same price (and it just happens to be my favorite color). Unfortunately, I don't have the money to spare, nor can I get a loan at the moment.

I found mine in a junkyard, victim of a front end collision. Paid 1000 for it and brought it home.

Same here. I paid $1,700 for a 90 RENIX with 225K on it, a sagging headliner, and the left rear corner had been hit. It also had sagging springs, left fog light doesn't work (still haven't found out why).
I will have to find out eventually though, because I found some really cool LED off road lights I want to install in their place.

The LF turn signal lens was cracked (replaced it), windshield is cracked, the rear wiper didn't work at all (replaced the motor, arm, blade, grommet and seal), overhead console compass/outside temperature display is toast and it had an overheating problem which I fixed by revamping the entire cooling system, with parts for a newer (non-RENIX) model. Other than that, it's been a gem!

Oh yeah.........the clear coat on the hood and roof is gone so the paint is all faded and such.

Nice! How much rust? At $2900 there's GOT to be rust.

This will help you identify the rims: http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f15/a...tures-1151525/

No rust that I can find and after some internet surfing, I discovered that the rims may actually be GC rims. The 3 that match, look like this one.

Yes, the first one is a gc limited wheel, commonly called snowflake. I just bought a set with bald tires for $65. Mine have the gold paint on the inserts. The second one I believe is called the canyon wheel. Did you check to see that the spare is not the 4th matching wheel? The gc wheels are 16". I think the canyons come in both 16 and 15.
