Not trying to be a jerk but abs and traction control is for people that can't drive. If you drive smart and think a head you don't need abs.

X2 I have no ABS, TC, or Power Steering

if you really want to control the abs with a switch, you'll need wiring diagrams. look on google for a site called arrc or IATN. if you cant find one let me know, I go to UTI and can use their alldata to print out some things for you.

Also, since your rig is a '99, its OBD 2, so you may encounter problems by disabling the abs (may throw a code, other systems may not work, etc.) when i get back to school Monday, I'll try to look into it for you.

ABS does things on the road that no human driver can do. Toggle switch idea is a good one.

Correct, I can not pump brakes as fast as the system can, yes you can drive without, but with it your far better off in some situations, thus the want of an on off swich, on for pavement, off for gravel and such

On my H3 I took the fuse for ABS out and shorted it to break the connection. I then soldered 16awg speaker wire to the top of the fuse. Shrink wrapped it and ran the wire to a switch inside with a same size fuse on one of the leads. This way I could flip the switch one way to break the fuse connection at the box. When flipped the other way it was fused and powering the ABS. I had to do this because of the damn traction control would limit how much power I had when snow wheeling or at the dunes. I would only get an ABS code till I flipped the switch back to normal. I did it this way cause I didn't want to mess with the factory wiring.
