Quote: Very true. Would you mind directing me to pics or a build thread on that, though? I wanna stuff 35s under my MJ stock, and I'd like to see what you did.
i never put 35's under a completely stock suspension

but maybe this is what you are looking for?

I had seen that, but I've heard you had one built that way. Regardless, 35s w/trimming should work if you did 2.5" with 37s. Would you agree? Also, are those low BS wheels on factory width axles on that rig?

3/4 ton "mid widths" if you want to call them that. not quite stock, not quite fullwidth.

Ive seen people run 35's stock before. 33's on stock suspension is pretty common too nowadays.

The rear fenders are more forgiving on my Comanche than they were on the XJ, so the only thing I'm worried about is steering/turning radius. That project is still a long way off, though, so I'll let this guy have his thread back. Thanks for the info.

I love my rig low. I really liked it on 3.5" and 37's. I still liked it on 3.5" front springs and 4.5" rears on 40's but needed a little more. now on 4.5" springs its pretty good.
When it was on 33's and 6.5" I hated it. I cant even imagine being over that. Especially with the increase in tire height too. No way.My jeep sits about an inch taller on 40's right now than it did with a 6.5" and 33's. and its 10" wider.
Ktm is right though, all the new guys just want to talk about how tall their jeep is. Thats why everyones first question when they see another jeep is "how much lift do you have". Its like going to the gym, everyone always asks "how much ya bench". Who cares. It doesnt define what the rest of you/your jeep is capable of. Those of us that have wheeled for a while talk about how capable it is at minimal heights/mods.
This thread is great by the way. havent read a good one that made me laugh in a while.
But seriously, no. Please for the love of god do not lift your jeep 8" to fit 35's or whatever you want to run, unless you are strictly wheeling in mud.

Time and place. Only time I'd do much height is if I wanted to keep my fenders/flares stock and run big tires. I'd love a pristine 88 Laredo on 6" or so and 35s as a show truck/street queen/DD.

I've looked through every pic on the "Lift/tire thread" in the general section, my favorite rigs are the 1.5-3" of lift on 35" and 37" tires, I personally have ridden in uber lifted Rigs and low COG rigs and low is the way to go. I also love the looks of the slightly lifted cherokee squating over big tires

Quote: How'd I know you were going to mention me? haha Like he said, I'm at 6.5 with a steep short arm angle and full pack leafs on stock shackles at a bad angle. I bought CADs and leaf sliders to change that. Haven't had time to put them on yet, but from what I've read, it'll improve my ride quality and flex. You can also do shackle relocation kits.
your jeep is my example jeep lol

i love a thread that the OP never posts again to give us an idea on what exactly they are trying to do.

personally if i went that high ( only about 1.5" away) i would get full widths and have like 40s and it would be a bogger nothing else but i love flexing out and getting to that oh **** moment and getting out of it

8-9" is way too tall IMO, My co-worker always talks about his XJ towering over mine. The sad thing is we are both running 33's but he has 8.5" of lift and bushwackers and I'm running 3.5" with trimmed fenders. Guess who is more stable on sidehills I am ! my coworker only has 1 thing over me and that is break-over angle

the only way it is going to be stiff if you have a bad shackle angle and bad control arm angle if get long arms and configure the rear spring correctly then you should ride normal but it will be stiffer if you are stock now comparing the 2

Also, shocks play a big role.
