Comparing a duratrac to a KM2 is like comparing apples to oranges.. Duratrac is an all terrain (although a very agressive all terrain at that, still an all terrain) and the KM2 is a full traction tire. As far as the pricing goes, around here they cost about the same (not sure about online, havent really checked). They're both great tires from what i've heard, it's mostly up to which one you like better.. Duratrac will probably last a little longer being not as aggressive as the km2, but the km2 will probably give better traction offroading, or at least to a certain extent anyways. Duratrac will be better in the snow for sure, so thats something to consider, however i've heard hot and cold about the km2 in snowy conditions.. some say it does amazing and others say its terrible.

Honestly I'd see both tires having about the same life span. I have a set of Km2's on my DD S10 Zr2 and they look nearly new after 13k miles. My buddy has a set of duratracs on his jeep and they seem like a lot softer compound. I had a set of 35" KM2's on my trail jeep and they were one of the worst offroad performing tires that I've owned for my type of wheeling (east coast mud and rocks). I baught them new and sold them about a month later lol.
Both tires are good for what you want. I'd give mud and snow to the duratracs and rocks to the km2's.

When I upgraded from 31s to 33s, I went from Duratracs to KM2s. We are mostly on rocks, but I do see some mud. Afrer two runs on the rocks, the Duratracs were chunking pretty bad on the corners and lugs, but the traction was good. The KM2s have been on two runs, and they have not chunked at all, and give great traction in the mud and on the rocks. I might consider the Duratracs for a DD or a trail rig that didn't see the rocks much, but the KM2s are the winner in my book if you are going to see any rocks or significant trail time vs. on road.
