Mine is about the same as yours. Report back.

Same for me.

I have taken the taper out of the stock TB and did notice better throttle response and more felt power on the low end.
Manifold is 62mm. So, no. Its a match.

Taper?

Jeep runs a little better.

I really wondered why I didn't feel really anything to brag about. Well, wife called in pizza. Then decided I could go grab it to avoid the wait. So, I decided to take the jeep out of the garage. Stopped by the bank. Did my thing. I get ready to leave and no start. I was like WTF? Crank, crank. Nohing. I put my glasses on, and it's on E. After a few more times, it starts, and I drive across the street to gas station. I fill it up. She drives better. Still not going to race any mustangs. But, she feels better. Probably what other felt after mod. Oh well, laughs on me

Drives better with gas? haaa. yeah, I just keep gas in mine all of the time. Fires right up.

jokes, of course.

I read on some thread (something like) "I can keep 70+ highway speed with 1/4 throttle rather than 1/2." That's what sold me. I fight my jeep to keep speed on the highway, any improvement is a big improvement. Review to come.

I'm laughing with ya! The jeeps gets like 1-2,000 miles a year on it. So, mainly for trails.

I'm still running stock gears. So, I will report back after gears are in. Week or two. I am pretty sure I will improve a ton (as it did before on my YJ). Don't think your getting a SC. Just more smoother idle and smoother on the road. Follow?

All what I have done makes it feel stock like when I bought it. So, the gears should put me above.

word, my nerd. I just plan on doing everything I can (within reason) power-wise. Hence injectors, CAI, and exhaust. I'm looking into a banks header with a new CAT and downpipe. I don't expect a SC, but the jeep keeps me busy and I tend to drink less while I dream up projects haa.

Also looking into a welder for half doors and a new roof rack.

That oughta take me into the spring/summer.

I did what you listed and did notice a difference. She has more grount. I think the most gain can from the exhaust. Down pipe to tail pipe. HI flow cat, etc.

All this tells me is that 1/4 throttle of 62mm TB flows the same air as 1/2 throttle of stock ?56mm TB. That really doesn't mean more power.

Hopefully less gas. As with most "performance" upgrades, if you mash the pedal, you get power... if you can restrain yourself, you save money.. more air is the idea afterall, not more gas.

I installed the TB today. It took a grueling 5 minutes. I also adjusted my throttle cable using this guide: https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f2/free-quick-fix-41821/

I don't think it needed adjustment, but it may help ya'll

My review - sweet.
After the injectors, exhaust, and CAI - I think this was the cherry on top.
Granted, I did buy another TB and have it bored. After everything I invested 50 (TB) + 60 (bore) + ~20 (shipping both ways). I'd say it was money well spent. That's about what I spent on my catback.

The magnaflow catback grumbles now. Definitely louder. I can hear more air moving in CAI, especially during warm up cycle. Where I used to be pushing it up a local onramp to make 60 by the time I merged onto the interstate, I now easily merge at over 60 (under 3k rpms). The rig seems to shift better (could be TB cable adjust, but I didn't notice that doing anything), there is no noticeable jerk at shift points - much more seamless. I've only opened it up from a stop a few times, but it moves.. Also, maintains 70+ on the highway with much less effort. Downshift, when I push the gas, is much less dramatic (no huge RPM bump) and seems to accomplish more to keep speed.
I'm happy. I'll try to remember to post back with MPG (if I can keep off the skinny pedal).
I posted pics in build thread, but they are just pics of 2 tb's.
