Just not a setup I'd run for 35's. My opinion tho. Good luck.

True that! I'm about to drop approx. 1500 on new wheels and 35's and going to be rolling on 3.55's for a while until I recover from that to regear. Then again, she ain't my DD. Gears and lockers are expensive and I want both to be done at the same time. that's around 1300 in parts alone.

it's not about affording shiny axles. not everyone has money for gears and that's fine. it's running 35's on stock gears and telling people it's "not that bad"

Ive got 35s and 355s. Mind you mine are 35s with a 17inch aluminum wheel...a tad lighter than other 35s.

I leave er in 3rd gear.
Other than it drinking gas i still have torque, and I can still cruise up to 80

You are goin to want to regear as soon as you can. But your fine to drive it stock until you get some money.

Zero problems?

Um, I think your incorrect there. Maybe if you don't wheel it. If it never sets tire off pavement you may get away with it. Any real wheeling and it'll give you problems.

Okay, you know,it's funny, many people on here truly do underestimate the d35, it is weaker than the 8.35. But my stepdad has a wrangler, with the 4.0 d30/d35 open/open, running 35in maxxis creepy crawlers on beadlocks, he has never broken an axle, and he wheels the **** out of that thing

Yeah? And he's never broken a shaft?

I find that hard to believe. Not the part about never breaking a shaft, the part about wheeling it as hard as your implying.

He is not within his jeep club for being one of the most "***** to the wall" drivers off road, we also had a tj wih a d35 with 33's and a lockrite. He use to run that thing on the rev limiter all the time while wheeling it, he broke the lock rite, but he nver broke a shaft

wrangler guys seem to have better luck with big tires on small axles. but paying for competition tires on gutless axles is a questionable decision as it is. regardless, I bet some people got a good laugh out of watching stickies spin uselessly on open axles

Okay here is my point, the d35 is not as strong as the 8.25(which I have) but why they truly can stand some abuse, why is it that so many people on here(many whom have never run a d35) act like a d35 will snap if you look at it he wrong way?

2nd trip on 35's. Now i have a 29 spline 8.25 now and it has been fine. Don't fully trust it but it will do. Anyone can get by on dana 35 but it will break eventually.
