Bought the Jeep for 400 because I thought I found a transmission. Person paid no attention to me saying that it was a two-wheel drive. As browsing the internet machine I am not having much luck. Any suggestions. I might be looking into turning this thing into an autocross machine or getting a donor vehicle. My dream was to get a transmission with a 12 12 but they can't find one. Also looking on autotempest I didn't find many 2 wheel drive does anybody know the production numbers of them

 

2wd's are pretty sparse. Especially around here in Michigan. BUT you could pick yourself up a 4wd AW4 from another xj and a tcase and just run it in 2wd. Bonus you could even have "2-low" for that super fast tire spinning action
