There is no other designation for those models the SJ carried till 91. If I remember it was a wheelbase designation, or something relating to?
My bad you said that too..

Good morning all. Thanks for all the replies and conversation but it looks like I may have wandered into a forum not entirely suited for the KL Cherokees. I'm certain there is a wealth of Jeep knowledge here but the KL series I guess is not being well received. I understand that and bear no grudge. I checked out the 2014 Cherokee site mentioned by Salad and think it would be better suited for my needs. Thanks again to you all for the welcome and as Roy and Dale used to say "Happy Trails".

The service guys most likely didn't touch the air pressure which makes you wonder what else they ignored on the pre delivery inspection.
I worked in dealerships for about a decade, cars (all of them) are shipped with over inflated tires to prevent flat spotting during transport from the factory to the dealer.
The service guys are supposed to lower the pressure back to factory specs before the car is picked up by its new owner.

After seeing a couple of these things in person they don't look as bad as I thought they would. The lights are honestly ok, but what pisses me off the most is that goddamn curved grill. Change anything but keep the grill how it should be! And I did see one trail hawk, it looked nice. I know most of us xj owners couldn't fathom doing it but some dude is gonna get one and overhaul it and it'd be pretty capable

might as well go ahead and change the name of this forum, cuz you know this won't be the only new cherokee member coming here. once these are out long enough, new owners will search for a cherokee forum and find us.
i didn't see anyone pushing away the European KJ cherokee owners away... what's the difference?
but i agree, with all the hatred here against the new cherokee, this guy is better suited to the new cherokee site that was advised to him.
but lets be a little more forgiving and possibly welcoming in the future as more new cherokee owners come to this site.
i understand no one here likes the new cherokee, but give it time, it will find it's place. just like the yj did years ago.

I always politely explain the difference and send them to www.lostjeeps.com. It looks pretty decent actually, I like their tech section.
