Default 2 Millionth XJ

Hi,

I remember seeing a picture of the 2 millionth XJ rolling off the production line in 1996 with President Clinton waving from it. What would the VIN number be? Would it simply be 2,000,000 on it or would it be something different?

Thanks for your help.

The two millionth XJ was a right hand drive model and was shipped to Japan.

I'd imagine it had whatever VIN is standard in Japan... I don't know how that works, but I'd imagine it's the same format as a US vehicle.

Edit: Google "2 millionth Jeep Cherokee". There is a Google news article from the local paper that tells the tale. You have to go to page seven to learn it's final disposition.

Cool,

Ill have a look at that article. It was wishful thinking on my part. I have a RHD 1996 Green XJ like that. Was hoping that it was the same one. Mine was shipped to the UK and it is now in Ireland a few years. Not too many left this part of the world. Thanks for your reply.

I read on page seven that it was actually exported to the UK. It says it was blue however. I remember seeing a picture of it on color and it looked green to me.

That's because reporters are morons. Remember that next time you read an article that makes you mad about something--the reporter is a moron who likely didn't get any details right.
