if you can afford it go with the 3" and some 31x10.50r15s on 15x8 with 3.75 bs. imo it looks the best for road and dirt.
if not 2" bb is the cheapest and will fit 30x9.50r15 on your stock rims.

I will throw a wrench in the machine here.
I see no reason to go over 3in. I went 2.5 inches. Rocking 32.5 federals. stock backspacing, narrow tires. Extended bump stops. Extended shock mounts. I trimmed the front fenders 1in but was able to fit the stock flares back into place. No rubbing fully flexed and completely discoed.
Very inexpensive, reliable, and trail worthy. I am not mud bogging, or rock crawling. Just wanted a stable, sturdy trail machine. Will have rock sliders installed tomorrow!
shoot I still have stock shocks

Sure. The extended shock mounts just add a bit of flex. Although it also causes you to extend the front brake lines also. But its fine to run without the shock extensions or longer shocks.
I would strongly suggest extending your bump stops 2in front and rear. This keeps your tires from rubbing.

My lift is actually a 3in bb in the front. Actual lift measurement is 2.5in.
The rear is extended autozone shackles. 40bucks. Actual lift measurement is 1.75in.
I will be getting in the mail tomorrow two 48in add a leafs. I have one broken leaf on each side currently from having no bump stops at all in the rear. So in the picture it sags alittle in the rear.
I actually don't like the extended shackles. If I were to do it again I would buy full leafs or an add a leaf. The shackles hurt your departure angle.

With all do respect I have to dissagree. Get a cheap bb lift first and wheel it for a bit. This way you will get your feet wet and come to know just what type of a quality lift you will buy in the future. There are a bazillion options, I wouldn't advise jumping in to an expensive lift without wheenling with guys who have them first. See what your limitations are and address accordingly. Who knows maybe your cheepo lift is just the set up your looking for.
I have the cheepo now. And on the trail an expensive lift so far wouldn't help me a bit.
More important for me was tires first. Next a winch, then gears and lockers.
Not all of us have deep pockets.
