i like what holycaveman did. that is smart work.

i think 3" is the highest you can go w/out opening the can of worms. ie, adj trackbar, sye, longer lines, driveshaft, etc, etc..

pros about using spacers, is your stock coils are soft, and will be flexy.
cons: your stock coils are soft, and so the additional height will make the jeep feel a little more "floaty" at high speeds.

get the gabriel autozone shocks. they advertise the extended/compressed lengths on the site, and they are like $17 ea w/lifetime warranty.

i would do what holycaveman did tho.. but at least get some used 3" coils for the front. you will find them all over the forums for $30-50 maybe.

holycaveman, what tire size are you running? metric?

front: used RC 3" springs.
rear: OME 2" light duty leafs, .75" shackle, shackle relocators.
shocks: used procomp es3000
tires: rubicon moabs w/245/75/16

Rides awesome!

gears and lockers next. sliders are ready to mount, and planning on trimming 1" and keep the stock flares.

front is about 3".
rear is about 3.25"
tires are roughly 31x10.50

front coils and shocks = $50
OME leafs = $240 (plus $20 for bushings) shipped
.75 shackle = $10
shackle relocators = $140

you really don't need the shackle and relocators.. i did that for more flex.. you can order the OME medium duty leafs and you'll get 3.5" of lift +/-

If I get the coils, leafs, and shackle do I need the shackle replicator or can I do without?

you dont need the shackle relocator.. or the longer shackle.

i would try to find (here on the forum):

used 3" coils
used 3" shocks (if you cant find for cheap, just get the autozone shocks)
OME medium duty leafs (same price $119 ea + free shipping)

that's all you need.

yes, should ride good. and those tires should still look ok.

it will be a little more. the old man emu leafs dont come w/bushings (many leafs don't) so it's about $260 for everything w/the free shipping if you search through google shopping.

try to find you some 3" coils on the forum, or on craigslist for around $50 or less. your shocks will prob be about $50-$80.

$360-$400.

i like what caveman did, and it's on the cheap, but for a bit more $, i think you can get a quality lift. old man emu leafs have the rep of riding and flexing like a dream. that's why i pieced my lift vs getting everything together.

Can't I just do add a leafs? Instead of getting new leafs and bushings?

Yep! you sure can.. i think OME sells add a leafs for cheap too (you dont have to use OME). Only cons about add a leafs (i had some on my first xj), is they ride a bit more stiff, and dont flex as well. But they will give you lift, and should ride ok.
