Post up your 84-86 Cherokees and provide some stats. I have a soft spot for these years... even if everybody else thinks they're junk.

1986 Pioneer
2.8L, TF904, NP207, Dana 30, 29 spline 8.25 with No Slip locker, 3" lift, 31x10.5x15, and other misc junk.

Aw, come one, let's keep this 84-86 only. There are only a few of them floating around on here and I'd like to see everyones pics of their "classics". Like I said, I love these years, probably because I'm too stupid to care that they can be a PITA.

Edit-Atmos: Your sad face is making me sad.

jbs - Awesome, man! I'll have to reference your build for when I do my v8 swap. I'm also amused that your '86 is the same color with the same pinstripe as my 2 door '88.

tcolt - Looks like a good start! What are your plans for it?

Gotta be some more 84-86 XJs lurking around...

just going to do a 3" lift, wheels and tires, upgrade the stereo, and try to get some more power out of the 2.5L

Nope, grey. I'd much rather the Brady Bunch interior, lol, my '86 has the same as yours. I always get crap about it.

tcolt - Sounds like a plan!

- 1986 Cherokee Laredo
- 2.8 v6, TF904, NP228, Dana 30/35
- 4.5" RC X-Series lift w/ full leaf packs
- 29x9.5 Goodyear Wrangler Territory's (bought the tires right before I decided to lift it )
- Homemade rear bumper/air tank
- Sony CD/iPod deck, Exile marine water-resistant amplifier (mounted behind right rear panel, nicely hidden away so nobody breaks into my Jeep AGAIN), Kicker speakers front and back

That's pretty much it.. Unfortunately, she has been sitting out at my farm since October while I've been in school. The poor little v6 has some serious crankcase pressure problems. At last, I have a few day break between exams; so tomorrow I'll be picking it up and driving it to my parents' where I can do a quick rebuild. Hopefully make er last a year 'til I have money to swap something in... I'm thinking something that will bolt up to the trans like a GM HT 3.4 crate engine or a Buick 3.8... maybe a nice supercharged Buick 3.8

Try again! You can use the attachment tool which is under "Additional Options" on the reply page. Just scroll down a little bit and you'll see the "Manage Attachments" button.
