Default 15x8 on 235/75/15?

i just got a set of nearly brand new 235/75/15 duratracs off craigslist for $300 and thought now was a time to get some dfferent wheels. will a 15x8 be too wide? i googled it and found that some people say that the tire will wear weird because the tire is stretched. is that true? i was thinking a 15x8 would be fine because the wrangler ravines are 15x8. i just dont want to ruin my new tires. what do you think? thanks!

Should be fine. You just won't be able to air down that much or the bead will break.

You should go with a 7" wheel up to a 10.50 tire.

awhile ago i tried mounting 235/75 r16s on some 16x8 wheels and had a really hard time. granted, thats an inch less of sidewall so that might have something to do with it.
