I am considering selling 1999 Cherokee Sport. It is 2wd, 4.0, Auto, 4dr, A/C (currently not working, not sure why), with 111k miles. Interior is in good shape as well as the body with no rust/rot. It has power windows (windows only work from driver side panel) and locks (locks do not work). This is an unmodified XJ. It currently has 30x9.5 tires on stock wheels.
It had an overheating problem when I got it. I have replaced the rad, thermostat, water pump, hoses, fan clutch (with the oversized fan clutch. Got the idea from a thread here. I'm fairly new to Jeeps and the abbreviations still confuse me a bit. I can look up the part number if needed.) and fan blades (the original blades were all bent backwards), radiator shroud, overflow bottle, rad cap. So far after the fan clutch replacement ( been roughly 3-4 weeks) no more overheating. It gets up to 214 around town in stop and go traffic here in AZ and it has been hot lately.
It also has new plugs, plug wires, dist cap and rotor. Will probably need brakes in a few months.
If I have forgotten anything please let me know and I will fill it in. I am considering selling to get an older Mopar station wagon or possibly a Wagoneer. These are all the pics I have currently, if you want more of anything specific please let me know. Thanks again everyone!
Forgot to mention, it does need motor mounts. They aren't completely shot, but need changing. And the front end does have Death wobble issues at 50 mph and above.

You should at least fix the windows before selling it. Especially living in Arizona. Odds are problem is in the driver's door wiring.

the a/c issue is probably the evaporator coil leaking if it is its in the 1000 dollar range to have repaired. the non working windows is also a common repair and the likely cause is the drivers side lock out switch for the windows has gone bad, heres one way to fix it

Prob like 2k in north Carolina because of the low miles and new parts. But no more because the paint is bad and interior is dirty and death wobble. If you cleaned it up, painted it, and fixed the problems it could be a solid 3k.

I lower my offer to 500 if you deliver.

Lol that's how much I've seen them for on Craigslist around me. $500 would be a steal. With a little work that could be a great jeep.Originally Posted by lowrange2

I agree with the above. You will probably get less than a thousand for it. Here in Florida you can get some really clean, rust-free Cherokees for around $1500-2500. The pictures you're showing do show some obvious signs of wear and tear & sun damage/discoloration. If I were the buyer I don't think I'd pay more than $800 for a Cherokee in that condition. You can probably increase the value by giving it a good vacuum inside, refreshing the paint job, and replacing some of the missing wheel center caps. The fact that it's a 2-wheel drive is also not as preferred as the 4-wheel drive models, so that affects the value as well. The good news is you have the preferred 4.0L inline 6 engine, which is what holds most of the value in that particular Jeep.

Depends highly where you live. XJs have gone up big time in the last few years around here.
Yours you could probably get about $1500-2000 for just because of the year and the issues with it are minor though the paint damage would make it hard to sell. $1000-1500 is probably more realistic.
Good condition late models XJs are going from anywhere from $3000 to $5000 around here lately even with high miles.
Even Renix era XJs with a good inspection sticker will pull $2000 here easily yet 3-4 years ago you could buy them for $500-900 all day long.
Oddly enough ZJs on the other hand have dropped off in price significantly.
