Opinions on my XJ's worth please

Yours you could probably get about $1500-2000 for just because of the year and the issues with it are minor though the paint damage would make it hard to sell. $1000-1500 is probably more realistic.
Good condition late models XJs are going from anywhere from $3000 to $5000 around here lately even with high miles.
Even Renix era XJs with a good inspection sticker will pull $2000 here easily yet 3-4 years ago you could buy them for $500-900 all day long.
Oddly enough ZJs on the other hand have dropped off in price significantly.

He's right. Location is a big factor.
I paid $5900 for mine about a year ago and it was close to mint. My buddy bought the same year and package model as me for $1300, but it was extremely worn and definitely got "used."
Another big thing is the buyer. Location is important, but you have to find the right buyer. Someone who has plans to jack it up, give it some TLC, and slap bigger tires on it might pay more than an old lady looking for a cheap ride for their grandson. The hobbyist is going to have to pay money to fix the problems it does have, so they are going to try and low-ball you as well to keep it within budget.
My 800 dollar mark seems a little low. I kelley blue-booked your Jeep and got around $2200 for the price. However, if you look at what they're really going for on places like Craigslist, comparable Jeep Cherokees in that condition sell for anywhere between $1000-1800. A really good condition Jeep Cherokee is on sale right now for $2400:

I'll edit my original estimate to somewhere around $1550 (give or take) after seeing the kelley blue book price. I say this much because there are some things wrong with the vehicle and it's not in the best of shape.

Thanks for the input everyone. I figured it would right about where most of you put it, but figured I'd ask anyway. It's not nearly enough to get me a decent start on an older model vehicle. I simply don't like all gadgets and junk on these newer models. Anyway, thanks again. I guess I'll just fix on it when the wallet allows.
