No because all the new vehicles are made out of plastic, and not metal. Give me something that is going to last. And i don't like to work on newer vehicles, too much electronic crap.

Nope. My 87 only cost me $500, its easy to work on, gets 21 mpg, and will outlast any new vehicle.

Yes I would in a heartbeat. I love my 2001 Sienna pearl XJ but she is getting the miles pounded on her (I drive 20,000-25,000 miles a year). Mine has 166,668 on it and I really dread the day I have to look for a replacement. There are not too many good stockers and they seem to be hacked to death by 16 year old billy bob to impress Mary Jane rottencrotch.

no buddy you are on my moms 97 expodition you have to take the engine out and up to replace the #4 plug on the driveside and that was just the start of how hard it is to work on the up and comming cars. my 97 is easy as pie i would rather deal with broken blots and some rust and mud then pulling a whole engine to change a spark plug

and also the new power stroke desiel on the fords you have to add this extra stuff in the fuel every 300 miles or else the truck won't start and it is 10 buck for every 1 1/2 gallons and you need to put in 3 gallons per full tank. so all this new car bulls@@t is too complacated and makes you spend more money for nothing

none of that has anything to do with with working on a 2010-2012 vehicle. removing bumpers, body panels, doors, interior, dash components, suspension. it's all held together by clips. and the sensors and electronics just pop out as well and the wires arent rotted. it's very easy to work on. engine? I wouldn't know

Not all new vehicles are made out of plastic. Ferrari Enzo is made of Carbon Fiber for example

97 expedition is an old car by most people standards. So it goes against what you are trying to argue. I have a friend who is a mechanic and he is always on my a#% about how hard it is to do anything on my Mercedes and how its stupid because its so complicated to remove anything. Well I say just because you dont know how to do it or were not trained/ lack resources doesnt make the car a piece of crap. Its built like a tank and lasted 26 years still runs like new because of the way things are mounted and hard to remove, so that after 200k bits dont fall off and stop working.

And with $25,000...you know how many parts, upgrades, or even more XJs we could buy with that money!
