well a couple months ago my jeep went from daily driver status to a pure offroad toy and ive been meaning to fix the huge dent i had in my passenger side rocker so i bought some steal from my shop and got to work.

Heres the dent that i was getting sick of

Basically i just cut the whole rocker out about an Inch below the door line
and started putting in my "brackets"

Please excuse my shotty welds
and i know that this isnt a super strong set up but it will do

this is what happens when weld spatter goes INTO your jeep

Then my buddy who was helping me had a good idea, we used some expanding foam insulation to keep from getting mud in the many gaps i had. then im going to just cut the excess foam off and seal it with some silicone caulking. then when i get the time i will throw some bedliner on it

i will put up more pics when its completly done

Looks good but be careful with expanding foam it holds moisture causing rust

X2 on the expanding foam. that stuff causes rust very easily. Bedliner is the way to go though. My jeep has more rubberized coating on it than paint.

well the foam should be backed by some silicone caulk and a thick layer of 3M rubberized coating, plus the layer of mud soon to come

I love the look of it with the 3M coating. How did you get the sharp line transition from rubber to paint? A piece of simple masking tape? Did you pull the tape off while it was still wet?

wow that came out great. You should spray the inner wheel wells with the undercoating while your there. makes it look cleaner and added protection too
