Hey guys I looked thru the last few pages and didn't find a welding thread so I thought I would start one. Basically just for showing off some welding skills or looking for tips. I will start with a few pics.

I am new to heavy gauge GMAW, been doing body work and sheet metal most of my life. Got a 75/25 cylinder for my personal Hobart rig today. Here is a test piece I was fooling around with today. Any pros have tips let me know. So far I can tell I need more overlap on my stop/starts.

I do that everywhere I go, just have a habit of looking at them everywhere... kinda makes you think.. you are around a lot of important things everyday that could have sub par welds.. something that people that don't weld don't think about

The ones posted here are absolutely perfect compared to almost all the docks I have ever seen. For reference I work in a facility with roughly 240 docks

Not being hateful, just curious. Im a welder by trade, so I get the connection in my field. Just never spent any time I guess doing what u guys do, curious about the relation
