I got one of those, I recently stepped up to a Hobart 210. It was a great little welder, it does have its limitations so take a good minute to consider where you wanna go welding wise. If you plan to do big stuff like roll cages or welding axle Cs like me you may need think about a bigger unit.

I need to learn how to weld so I think that unit will get me going. I will be doing smaller stuff first.

I've heard I can do 1/4" with 2 passes, so that should be alright I think..

I did some 1/4" with my 140 and it seemed to do good. I just didn't trust it fully.

If ur gonna be doing mostly small garage fab stuff running go for the 140. I chose to upgrade since I'm going to be undertaking some big stuff ill be getting paid for so I wanted to ensure it was all solid.

Is this welder good enough to build a winch bumper with? Will .035 fluxcore wire be strong enough as well? I usually use Lincoln Innershield NR-211MP wire. Is that strong enough? If not what could I use. I got the welder for free from a buddy.

I'm not really sure on the amperage. I wanna build a rear bumper and I couldn't turn down a free welder.

Google the model number or something and that should give you all the specs. If its rated for anything less than 1/4" than I wouldn't use it
