Frame extension and bumper I had to make at work for one of our owner op's trucks, learning the art of welding as I go, I really suck at alum. But do OK with stick and mig for steel

Anyone want to tell me what make my welds look stretched out and elongated rather than like a stack of nickels? Am I moving to fast forward then tracking back to far? Any help appreciated!

Yeah look like u are moving a bit quicker and dragging. Trying slowing down and make circular motions as u go.

I'm going to be staring my exo once the weather breaks and tried to get as much practice as possible beforehand, I need to get a bottle for my personal welder before I tackle it though, I got my bender and notcher already

I'd say you're going a little fast as well. I think your settings are probably OK. I'm still a n00b too, but I've learned a lot. The circular motion that xjwonders was referring to helped me a TON. I watched a lot of YouTube videos, too. Another tip that helped me out is that when you first start, get your puddle started before moving along. That helped me quite a bit too.

My boss goofed up by ordering it laser cut in center sections when it shouldn't have been cut.

So I had to weld the plates back on the main plates.

Scratch start suck, I prefer either lift or the pedal.
