Default Tube Bumper Question

I am going to build a tube bumper this weekend. I have some 3" pipe laying around that I'm thinking about using. Do ya'll think this size pipe would look good or be to big? If anyone has a tube bumper built out of 3" pipe post a pic please. Any other suggestions would be great. Thanks

For a bumper you don't want to use pipe you need to use tube.

pipe is fine if you have it laying around as some of us dont have a bunch of extra money to use the "correct" material. pipe will work but 3 inch i think is way too big imo but its your jeep so if you like that look go for it. you can mock it up in front of the jeep to see if you like it before you start building with it so you can have an idea of how itll look.

Use tube. If you use pipe, I can guarantee you'll be added to this thread. http://www.canadian-offroad.com/inde...ctures-thread/

Yeah, I think the pipe will work fine. I was thinking the 3" would be a bit large, but I think it may work fine. I would just like to see if anyone has a pic of a bumper with 3" pipe/tube

You could use the 3" as a base or something for a lower section. Then use smaller pipe, or tube whichever you end up using, to build an upper section.

Hard for me to explain, and I can't really draw it right now.

I hear what your saying. This is the template I'm gonna work off of.

Pipe is ok but don't expect it to be anywhere near as strong as tube. I find it usually looks a little ghetto too. However I have seen it done well a couple of times, wasnt strong but it looked cool.

Good luck on the fab, post pictures for us.

I will do my best to get some pics taken and post them when I finish the project. Thanks for the tips.
