thinking about doing rear 4link on my cherokee
i just got done putting a long arm kit on my cherokee and tested it today and im blown away with what the long arms can do,but now im saddened by how poorly the rearend will not move.So now im thinking about doing a rear 4link and ive spent the last few hours measuring and looking for parts to do it.here are my questions: 1 what is the safest way for me to sleeve my frame because i wont weld 1/4 inch brackets to 16 gauge frame.2 has anyone ever done this.i have plenty of fabrication skills and have done way too much to my cherokee to just give up on making it what i think it should be.any suggestions would be appreciated.

rock krawler and clayton also has rear link kits. just remember your gonna be welding to your axle so make sure its the one that best fits your tire and drivin style. i'd hate to fab up an axle for a rear link set up only to figure out that its not strong enuff for what i'm running or want to run. just something to keep in mind. when you do make sure to post the build.

look at the clayton kit for how it mounts. for the coil over vs air shocks they are the same price. if you want to drive it on the streets or do speed stuff coil overs if its low speed crawling only then air shocks

do 3/16" unibody stiffeners from your front horns to your rear bumper and have plenty rosette welds along the way. that will give you a good basis. HD fabrication and TNT fabrication make good kits to do this

i thought about a coil 4 link for the rear of mine for a few years now, but i wheel trails with a lot of off camber sections where a 4 link rear would be too unstable compared to leafs.
so i've kept my rear leafs for now, they are RE and flex just fine and keeps me on all fours.

Mine is four linked in the rear, with coils.. not air shocks or coil overs. It is much more stable than it was before (i kept the COG low). I will never build another rig with leaf springs in the rear.

ive looked at your entire build and i like your rear 4 link setup where did you get your lower control arm coil bucket brackets?
A well setup leaf sprung rear can work just as well.
How stiff are your current leaf springs? How tight are your shackle bolts? What angle are your shackles in relation to the "frame" rails? Shock length? Sway bar removed?
I would think fine tuning what you have might be better, cost less, and be much less involved.

x2. not to mention a set of teraflex revolver shackles. that being said i would still prefer having a low COG linked rear
