yeah i thought a lot of people would wanna hear about a soft top cherokee? thats what im thinkin about doin, my grandpa has a welding machine and so does my friends dad, i just dont know how much metal to get or how much it will cost, also i dont know where i cant get the metal bent either

 

i actually have this planned for later this summer after the frame stiffeners, and cage. i like how this guy did his and will be copying parts of it. tieing the cage into the interior sheetmetal, the half doors, but adding a MJ tailgate.

i have been thinking about doing something similar on my cherokee. i want to leave the roof and take out both side windows then cut the back section out where the top and bottom of the side windows would be. then make a tailgate for the rear and a roll cage that bolts to the roof for support. the soft top would be custom side and rear windows that zip down, like the cloth doors for a wrangler.

 

oh my god, i have fallen in love with that cherokee...

 

i cant believe what i just saw in that thread. that xj was 100000000000x better then any wrangler will ever be. that guy is the man. wish they built xj's like that you could buy great idea!
