Heres my welds, arent as purdy as yours but do the job and also prety happy with my welding and fabrication considering i basically sit down and taught myself how to do it.. These welds were done by my Hobart 187, main bracket on my home brew back bumper for the XJ...

I was kinda suprised when looking through my comp for weld pics... I dont have too many. Matter a fact I have a single bead in all my pics. so I will post it.

Done with an old school Lincoln tombstone with 1/8 7010 in the flat position. I guess you would call it a butt weld.. wasnt much gap though.

I also think You should have ppl state what they welded it with and in what position. I think a vert done with stick should have more props then a flat done with a Mig welder.

Nice! looks aren't always everything, most of the time they are though, heh.I know what you mean, I used to weld truck bodies down to chassis mounts upside down, backwards and blind..... we went by feel. I know those weren't very pretty.

I always try an make em look as good as possible, even if its welds that no one will ever see. Though its not about how they look, its if they will hold! lol.

Also, anyone on here fab stuff up and put their inesials on it somewhere? im bad about doin it, i guess after building something you thought up and done all yourself, custom, its in my nature to do so lol.

Almost all my welds are ugly (even the TIG) cause I go for strength and I also am a self taught guy with only a couple years experience. When I get the CO2 filled I am going to make some tail light box's so I will try and get some up close pics of those welds. But here is a pic of one of my tube doors.

I got a nasty email outside the forum about this post..... I don't know why somebody would be offended by yall showing your efforts....Jerk! Anyway after he called me a hack and decided I had no Idea how to weld like the rest of you guys (thats what he said) I think yall are doing great!..... (This dude that didn't leave a name has some serious small wiener issues), I decided to burn about 6 inches of non pulse, MIG weld and welcomed him to show up tonight and check out the pics. Ill drop one in when I get back from the shop tonight. I don't get some people.... but lets see what you guys have got. This dude needs to know that you XJ guys can really lay it down!
