Rear Hatch Mods.. Like a tailgate ? anyone
Has anyone seen a hatch on a xj modified to fold down say the bottom half and the top half with glass go up ... ? Im thinking on doing this .. wanted to know if anyone has.. and if any one would be intrested in something like this.. Might make a few if i do it...

Na im thinking more of keeping it stock looking.. Kinda a bolt on thing...guess im going to have to go to junk yard get one and see what i can do...

no it's not a stupid idea. my buddy is doing the same thing. we ripped the tailgate of a s10 blazer apart and are using the hinges and locking mechanism to accomplish this. not finished yet and don't have any pics. sorry. and he has a metal tailgate i think thats the only way to accomplish this task. i plan on doing the same thing when we get his done. makes for a great work bench out on the trails. and bench when looking for a place to sit. might even wanna look at Comanche and how that works. it is possible.

hey man i just stumbled across this. http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=557715. it's similar. i'm going to refer to this post when i start on mine. because mine is fiberglass. and instead of doing the pin thing he did u could use hinges. it might be a couple of weeks be4 i can get pics of what we got done so far. and it's no were near finished. so this post might be more helpful.
