Anyways, back to the OP. I like the idea but those wood brackets are dangerous. Spend the $20 on the materials to make steel mounts.

And completely redesign the mounting so that it mounts to the study part of the floor instead of the flimsy part that keeps crap from rolling around.

With everything being said, I think it's a pretty sweet mod for $30!

Poor guy. Pretty much everyone pooped on his "captain chairs". He used wood cause he wanted them to float!

I did end up fixing the wood supports they are now made out of metal and secured properly and safely.

what all you failed to realize is there are no good write ups on captains chairs so i did what i could out of the materials i had, thanks for beating up on my write up i really appreciate you help.

I think you did a decent job except the wood. It took an idea, time, and motivation to do it yourself. At least you are working on a project you enjoy.

That all being said, if you think this is bad maybe you should post this mod on Pirate. It will make you feel alot better about the reactions from cherokeeforum.

Don't worry on here you paint your vents and you get praised and told how good of a job you did but you try to do a write up on something new to help people who are trying the same thing, and instead of help you get bashed! I plan on putting "bucket" seats in mine somehow when it's done
