Why do it in the first place? You're losing space, can't fold the seats down, can't store as much under them, likely losing visibility, and you're losing a seat. What's the upside here?

comfort, and a head rest, as well as the bench seats swaps back in, quite easily and under 10 min time

I wouldnt call them Captains Chairs, they are just single seats. Captains Chairs are tall and have armrests and dont come from a Cavalier.

I have spare XJ seats lying around, but they would look terrible in the back. If its worth doing, its worth doing RIGHT.

I c using what you have instead of going out and buying stuff can be the best way to go. I looked at the front seats in my parts jeep today I like them better than the ones in the fixer upper and thought about it the only thing is they are tan and my other is gray. I may just have to rock some tan seats with gray interior. then again I could change it all out....possiblities are endless.....could fix the parts jeep and switch rolls with them....hmmmm decisions.....<<<<<<<< I know!

anyhow nice use of materials you have. Keepin the jeep build on the cheap is always best.

You couldn't pay me to ride in that seat... if you have a wreck whoever is dumb enough to sit in that seat is going to die. There's no doubt about it.

Yep. Good mock up with the wooden mounts, time to get some square tube steel and make some proper mounts.

I've been thinking about making some nice flares out of balsa wood.
