it's actually pretty sturdy just the way it is, since it's tied directly into the B pillar as well. but bash it on a couple rocks and I'm sure the sheet metal will buckle. just like it did on my last jeep
I'm talking about the main pinch seam that's vertical and runs all along the factory bottom rocker. But looking over your pics, it seems pretty obvious that you cut it all out, lol. I've seen some 2x6 builds where they retain that seam and BFH it flat with the 2x6. I like that idea but I'm not sure it will work or make sense on my own build. I didn't realize how many pinch seams there were but essentially each pillar has one. I just rebuilt part of my B pillar with 16 gauge steel thanks to rust!

I believe he was referring to what was actually hand written on the rockers... Literal "butthurt".

Ohhh, lol. I found it humorous the first time I read through, and forgot about it before subsequent posts

you can't pick your friends. but apparently your friends can use an indelible marker to write **** all over your work

they are not secured. I still need to take them off to get in there for cage tie ins. I'll probably just leave them loose

pockets empty I can't seem to remember cutting any vertical pinch seams
I think they were all horizontal. I'll take a picture of the underside later.

:/ I'd suggest mounting them somehow. I left mine loose for a while. They didn't fare to well.

Yeah my front fenders are lose right now, I didn't want to weld them incase I never needed to take them off or if I got any new ones.

I don't remember a vertical seem, only a box where the front fender meets the A pillar and the bottom of the rocker all boxes together.

Maybe the pinch seam I'm talking about only exists on 97+?

You can see it here, comes straight down..

When I did mine I cut right along that pinch seam on this side, then hammered the seam flat, then welded the flat seam to the bottom of the slider. The bottom of my sliders sit right on top of that pinch seam.

I actually need to try to make those welds a little better and add frame tie-ins.
