I was hoping to have my initial set last friday but other orders/projects got in the way. I should have them tues, wed at the latest.

I also had to make some changes after getting a set of lights in but it was pretty minor. Pics to come this week...I swear

cant wait to see pics!

I got to thinking last night....would it be better to have the support plate on the outside of the bracket rather than the inside? perhaps a little less to obstruct the view from the seat?

It would lessen the obstruction of view, but these things are pretty small and once you mount a light on there thats the biggest obstruction. Plus its WAY easier to make this way.

Just checked with my fab shop and I should have a pair by the end of the day. Pics to come shortly.

Since it looks like there is enough interest after I run the mock-up and test that it fits, the angles are right, etc. I'll make a run of them. I'm going to see about some costing from our shop today. I've got some Q's for you guys

-What would you pay for this design? I'm guessing these will be $40-50 but I'd like to know from the buyer
-Would you want them raw aluminum or powdercoated black?
-How do these other ones mount, do you take the interior a-pillar stuff off and use nuts?
-Hole size for the light
Oh yea, I'd be interested in a set. I actually sold my Hella 500's because I didn't like them on the roof or the bumper but wanted to put them on the A-Pillars. Oh well, I'll get another set. I think $40 is a fair price, but cheaper is always better The cheaper you sell them, the more you'll sell. It would probably end up a better payout in the end. I would personally prefer them powdercoated if it doesn't raise the price too much. Recessed screw holes and included hardware could make for a really clean install. Ever think about making models with different hole sizes? 3/8" and 1/2" I think would do fine. If the hole is too large for a consumers lights then the bracket is useless...

Just my .02

Either that or to save a little, put a 3/8" hole in them and if the consumer needs to he/she can drill the hole to 1/2".

I used a 0.406" punch for that hole and I'd rather not have 2-3 different parts. If you guys dont mind drilling it larger if needed (not like theres a lack of guys with mech. skills around here) then that would def. keep the cost down.

I'd also offer them raw or powdercoated matte black at no add'l cost.

Thanks for the input guys. Sorry for the delays but orders trump fun-stuff

Ok, sounds great. I have no problem drilling holes (Look at my front bumper... 4-5 sets of holes drilled from misc different light setups I had haha) but I figured it would just attract more customers who would rather not drill the hole larger. My only concern with drilling a hole in the mount is that doing so will ruin the seal of the powdercoating, greatly reducing its' lifespan. Powdercoating, in my understanding, works best as a full "shell" around the item, otherwise it's easy to chip off. Correct me if I'm wrong, I'm no expert on powdercoating, I just have a few friends that do it for a living.

your right on the PC, fortunately theres aluminum underneath so you wouldn't get any meaningful corrision. I also think it'd take years and years for that "shell" to chip. Either way it'd be a helluva lot better that spray paint.

The aluminum won't ever rust, but it's possible that it could corrode, being that it's most likely going to be used as an electrical ground. I can always get it repowdercoated after I resize the hole, but that adds to the cost of the project. I understand where you are coming from and would like the price of your product to be as low as possible without sacrificing quality, I am just voicing my opinion towards the products development. I love to voice my opinion of products and can't get enough of trying new products on the market, especially if I get the products free or discounted just to get the word of the product out on the streets.
