Yes we closed jonjon's thread. One of our mods actually bought a set. And basically looks like a 10 yr old tried to weld two pieces of scrap steel together and drill a hole in them.
His junk will not be sold on here again unless he can develop some quality. Then send it to me for further testing lol.

I think $40 - $50 would be fair.
I would like them powdercoated but not if it puts it out of that price range.
The way your doing this is great. Getting info building some then testing it. The "other guy" was taking orders with nothing but an idea, and the final product left MUCH to be desired.

Thanks, I'm a product designer and getting feedback is part of the process as it helps make a better product. I should have a prototype late this week or next but I'd still love some feedback on those previous questions I asked.

X2. For me this wasn't even on my list or radar, and now I want one.
If you can make affordable light bars for the roof I'd be into that too because my walmart bar won't last through a Michigan winter.

What size hole needs to be done for the light mount? I ordered a set of Hella 500's but they wont be here until the end of the week.
Since it looks like there is enough interest after I run the mock-up and test that it fits, the angles are right, etc. I'll make a run of them. I'm going to see about some costing from our shop today. I've got some Q's for you guys
-What would you pay for this design? I'm guessing these will be $40-50 but I'd like to know from the buyer
-Would you want them raw aluminum or powdercoated black?
-How do these other ones mount, do you take the interior a-pillar stuff off and use nuts?
-Hole size for the light

- the best install would be to remove the interior trim and use bolts with nuts to securely fasten them.

I will take a set also if in that $40 range I don't need powder coating especially if they are aluminum. I still think steel would be better though. The lights need to be grounded and it is really nice when you can do that at the mounting bolt and just run 1 wire into the vehicle. Either way I am interestead.

For light tabs like this, I'd say 1/8" steel would definitely do the trick.
I would probably get into making them if I had access to a press and a plasma cutter.
Cutting steel with an angle grinder isn't my idea for fun and I avoid it if I can.
