Default new home build hyd bender

[/IMG]so im sure many of you have your own spin on how to build one..but here is my version.

I started with my manual JD2 model 3 bender...worked great for me for many years, but i bought a new house and didn't want to bolt the bender down to my new garage floor.

So..i started looking around for a affordable..easy to use conversion. I really like the electric over hyd conversions in 110 volt...but the cost of the pumps, extra valving and the sheer noise of these pumps was a turn off. Theair over hyd conversion im sure works just fine...but once again..really noisey.

So after some research..cost..noise..usabilty.i opted foe a 12volt hyd lift gate style pump.

dang..having prob with imgs

After all said is done, it works great, can pull a 90 deg bend in a single pass in under 30 secs, has a load holding fuction in the valving so there is no drift....to compensate for spring back...and a high flow low pressure powered reverse

Pump specs

2500psi 1.8 gal pm
300psi 2.8 gal pm rev
12olt approx 20 amp draw
remote control
2 gal res
3" bore tie rod style cyl double acting

pump $350 ebay
cyl $78 ebay
Hydr lines free..
Battery..free..used out of one of my semi"s
Steel from the local steel yard, they have a surpus section out back..50c. a pound(thats why the steel looks old..but i only paid 50 bucks for all the metal(this was a budget build)

The main frame is 2x3 .120 tube
bender arm is 3x3 .250 wall

Cv tried to pull out of the stub axles at top out cause they didnt put any limit straps...and on and on...lol. oh well pays well...more money to build my jeep

Like your design.. how stable is it with a full stick in the bender?

Here is the setup I bought.. and it was a smoking deal... I ended up selling my manual Pro tools.

so far it hasn't been a problem. That group size 31 battery weighs about 65lbs.

I made the base this way for storage, the space between the legs fits around my welding cyls to save space.i only have a 3 car residential garage to work with..gets crowded fast. building a shed out back to put the plama cam water table..neighbors gonna love me!Just glad i dont have a BS HOA to deal with.

^^^
I have the plasma, a thermal dynamics cut master 51...works great..but honostly im lazy and would rather have a comp cut all my tabs and brackets while i drink beer and surf the furoms here

I just got this house so most of my time has been in the remodel of the house it self..and building new tools for the work shop. Next project is the new tig table..should be fun.Eventually i will get around to actually building my 88. Planning on a custom long arm front, coil conversion rear 4link, full cage, sliders, tire and gas racks..just to start.
