Great build gave me a good idea for mine. Just need an idea to mount to the roof. Gutter mounts I guess.

Awesome rack man! I had to change my shorts too after seeing the prices of. Prebuilt, I almost bought one from Walmart for 150 Ish, I'm a welder at work but my bosses get pissed when I use their equipment lol do you think I could use the 90 amp from harbour freight? Yes between the welder and stock, it will be more than 1 rack, but I can always use the welder

Yeah the HF welder would work perfect. That 1x1 is only 16g and 90amps should take care of that. I only suggest purchasing good flux core from somewhere else. Just keep the HF wire for practice.

My "home brew" rack. 2 sticks of 1/2" Rigid, 3 ten foot sticks of Rebar, 6 horse shoes, and a piece of Plexiglass. Took about 4 hours to build.

Lol I had a couple buddies helping out.

I used a conduit bender for the rigid, and the rebar you can bend by stepping on one end and pull up on the outer. Depending on what size you get. I used 1/2" rebar.

It weighs about 20 pounds (just the rack). We have a little mig welder also. just be careful welding the rigid, since its galvanized it puts out a toxic fume and will give you get a headache.

FYI, it can do more than give you a headache. Next time, grind it down first and get rid of the coating.
