Yeah I don't have that rubber grommet. Mine is a 91 limited. So far I ran the wire under the trim on the A-pillar and only about 3 inches is exposed before it goes under the rack.

i had a crazy idea take a blazer rear tire swing and latch and mount it on your roof rack so it swings up and hangs off the back and get a spare lowering winch off of a old pickup . i think that would be cool cause your spare would be latched in the roof rack and if u need it u pull the latch fold it back to where its hanging over the back undo the lug nuts and lower it down with the hand winch.

The problem I'm having now is adjusting the light up there. They are not designed to angle down, only up so I'm looking into making some wedge spacers on about 45 degree angles.

It funny how the simple thing never come to light. Well as I was typing this and thinking this would work I thought the way I made them to mount lower I cant bend them down. They will touch the roof. Great idea really and I wish it would have worked. The lights are mount to be protected by the rack.

What I am thinking now is I have some 1x1 left. I might cut some about 2" long then cut them in half at a 45 degree and have two wedges. Yall think that will work.

I have the JCR low profile rack.. finally got some lights to go on it, They made the tabs on the rack so they are mount upside down and protected by the racks hoop. I havent run the wiring yet, but my plan is to run it to the back of the rack, then go inside right next to the rear hatch hinge. I dont want to have to deal with drilling a hole and then sealing it. Also my running to the back of the jeep o the inside, I want to put a quick disconnect plug so that if i remove the rack i unplug the light wires right inside the hatch and dont have anything else to remove.
