I've been contemplating 1 in box but I was afraid it would be too big, I might just go through with it because of your build, well see how it looks up top.

I had planned on using a universal relay to keep the majority of the power out of the rocker switch, but looking at the price, a quality relay, cost almost as much as the rack and way more than the lights, so I'm not sure i will use the relay. Yall's input is welcome on this topic. I'm using the Harbor Freight Light, they are 28.99 a set. I can not justify spending too much on lights that might get broken. At 100 watts these lights are bright and I'm pleased with them. My concern was running the wires so they won't be exposed on the roof or in too much in the door seem.

I thought about using 3/4 tubing, but I don't think the weight difference is enough to take notice. Like I said before I can cut and weld but I'm no engineer. I don't think there would be much strength lost with the 3/4. Maybe some brain can answer the strength question on the 3/4. The majority of my weight comes from the expanded metal.

Find a coupon and get them cheaper. I had lost mine so I paid full price.

Another thing I was thinking is when I ordered the gutter mounts I only order 4, so when I get those mounted and the rack on the roof I might fab up 4 pieces of angle iron to mount to the stock rack locations in the center for extra support. I love how big it is and how much room it gives me. Next I plan to make a canopy that mounts to the rack. That way when I go camping I have a place to sit if the weather is nasty and I want it large enough to put a small tent under. I have a few ideas but will wait until the rack is finished before I start.
I saw that you welded the "fabric" on before you did the top tube. Did you have any problems welding tube on top of fabric ?????
I am thinking about the same thing, with 6 attachment brackets to drip rail. thanks, Randy
PS: looks great. Are you going to carry a spare up there ? If so, make a bracket for it.

Yeah I just used a cut off wheel to notch the "fabric" in the places I wanted to add the post. Yeah I need to make a spare mount for it, but not sure how I'm going to do it. I guess I need to do some searching. Any suggestions?
No one has posted on his question about wiring these light without running them through the door seem.
I'm having the same issue and am also looking for an answer.

I know that on my 99 XJ, there was a rubber "filler-plug" at the top of the "B" pillar. I forgot if my 92 has the rubber filler plug.. I think it does. You just would need to run the wires up the pillar and out to the roof from the grommet.
Run out and check.
