correct that is why I said to go and get a steering column out of a 1997+ with cruise and use the wires coming out at dash end to wire relays. if you got real fancy you could use the accelerate and coast buttons to run your winch in and out...

the clock "spring" is just a loose coil of banded wire (like inside a tower style computer) that is half coiled, so that it tightens and loosen with wheel turn.

Also... I'd Like to mount a winch, But I really don't want to build a custom bumper or buy one, so what would be the easiest way to mount a winch that would still be functional? I'll probably just get a little 3500#

Getting a winch hitch mounting plate. You would have to install hitches if you don't already have em but that's pretty easy way to have a useable winch.

When you say hitch mounting plates, do you mean like a trailer hitch? I don't have one of those installed but I could use one...

Yeah you could do a hitch on the front or back and have a receiver mounted winch.

FYI a little 3,500lb winch isn't gonna do much if anything for you.

Thats considered an ATV class winch.

Personally I'd recommend this: http://www.detoursusa.com/xjbackbone.php

For a Jeep, you really need at least a 6K winch, but most recommend 8.5K or above. If you go bigger it'll put less stress on the components when you do pull and the winch will last longer.

I took and snorkled mine using 3 in PVC pipe. I cut a hole in front fender and turned it up the side of the fender as tight as possible and capped it of when not in use when it is I pop on a aftermarket 30 dollar air filter just above roof line. Also did the exhaust the same but cut a hole in rear fender ran exhaust pipe along body to just above roof line. Look quit nice
