X2 on the back bone. I'll be getting one soon for my winch.
Yeah you could do a hitch on the front or back and have a receiver mounted winch.
FYI a little 3,500lb winch isn't gonna do much if anything for you.
Thats considered an ATV class winch.
Personally I'd recommend this: http://www.detoursusa.com/xjbackbone.php
For a Jeep, you really need at least a 6K winch, but most recommend 8.5K or above. If you go bigger it'll put less stress on the components when you do pull and the winch will last longer.

Yeah that backbone does look good, maybe I'll invest in a bigger winch too. My avatar describes me, so I don't want to blow a ton of money on the winch. I just don't have the knowledge or tools to build my own bumper. Thanks for the help guys.
I have 1/4 inch steel plate laying around here how heavy do you think a front bumper would weigh with that? I'm looking into building something like the jcroffroad bumper prerunner I'll post a pic of it.

Thank you, I scratched my head for a few minutes trying to figure out a clean way to add a cup holder. Cant do the passenger side there is a plastic duct that follows the console. So anyone riding with me is Fuct!
since Jeep built your XJ and put it in. Every XJ I've ever seen/ridden in has a vent at the bottom of the center console on the very back. Thats what the plastic duct leads to. It routes cold/hot air to the rear passengers....NOT to the rear seat.

I considered removing the duct and capping it off so I could install a second cup holder. I'm liking having thinks "stock" for once

I replaced the non functional cigarette lighter socket (since i have a power inverter with 3 120v and 2 usb) with a switch for my electric radiator fan. Used a piece of stainless steel flashing from lowes.
yeah, two different times on the clocks, i live in central time and work in eastern. I can do math, but hell, i had two clocks.. so ytf not?
