I used 1" square tubing that was the frame of a shipping box, cut it apart and welded it into my roof rack. Cost me $0.00. and the top is just a piece of round bar i had laying around.
Yeah i didnt like the squared off edges but i dont have capability of bending pipe. so it not about looks this time.

I'm still trying to work my way through both of the Homebrew Jeep Mod threads, but haven't seen a post on this yet, so thought I would go ahead and ask. Has anyone done removable rear bucket seats?
My idea is to remove the fold down bench. My XJ will be mostly a camping vehicle. I rarely ever have rear passengers, but will probably have one or tow of the nephews with me from to time along with my 2 80lb. dogs. So my thought was to add one rear bucket on the passenger side and be able to remove it when it isn't needed. I am also thinking of a box along one of the side walls (rather than a box in the rear cargo area, to save on room).
Is the seat mod something that can be done without having to weld? I have no welding skills or access to anyone that can do it for me.
Thanks in advance for your time and for these Mod threads. I have gotten a lot of good ideas out of it.

Sorry, those are not the Trucklite ones.
These are. And it is the BEST money you will EVER spend on your XJ. I am saving up now for a set for my other XJ and my Commanche.

I really like those lights but $475 is a tad bit to much for me. Lol. I've thought about the fat boys lights

I'm interested in making my own spacer and brace as well with some steel I have laying around. What did you use for the risers there and how tall are they supposed to be?
I used some 5/8 threaded rod nuts and cut them in half to around 3/4 give or take. It was actually pretty easy to make it since I had a template from a previous outer brace, just made it a tad smaller so it catches the gear box and that big hole right behind the gearbox. Now my bumper is held my 18 bolts and pretty much sandwich the front.
